Postdoc in Networking at RWTH Aachen University

Institute for Networked Systems (iNETS) at the RWTH Aachen University has an opening for a postdoctoral research assistant/fellow in the general area of advanced wireless networks. The preferred background and possible research topics include:

- Big data Processing of Telecommunications and Networked Data
- Machine Leaing for Communications Systems
- Performance evaluation of wireless networks, including mmW and HetNet systems
- Capacity analysis methods for complex wireless networks

One possible application and research area is cognitive wireless networking, but in principle this is a wide area call of postdoctoral researchers. The offered postdoctoral position is not tied to any particular project, instead the post holder is offered possibility to integrate to general research themes that are on-going in the institute and high degree of independence is both offered and expected. The candidates are expected to develop in their post and take a leading role in their sub-field, participate to the supervision of thesis students and projects, develop their own research field, and conduct high quality research published in leading venues. The formal teaching load is low, and the main emphasis in the position is in research and interaction with M.Sc. and Ph.D. thesis students.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates are expected to:
* Have eaed a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering or related fields by the time of the application.
* Be fluent in English. (Knowledge of German is NOT a requirement, and working language in the department is English).
* Publications record on scientific jouals and/or conferences,

The candidates can be either experimentally and systems oriented, or be more theoretically oriented with interests on systems research. For experimentally oriented candidates an experience with testbed systems, programming of systems (such as gnuRadios, WARPS), and/or network simulation are a plus
